Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve answered some of the most common questions we hear from homeowners across Guildford, Virginia Water, Chobham, Twickenham and Richmond. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, don’t hesitate to get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
1. How do I know if I need a new boiler or just a repair?
If your boiler is over 10 to 12 years old, frequently breaking down or producing noticeably higher energy bills, replacement is often the more cost-effective long-term option. Our engineers will always give you an honest assessment, and we’ll never recommend a full boiler replacement if a repair is the better choice for you.
2. What boiler brands do you fit?
We fit premium, A-rated boilers from Worcester Bosch, Vaillant and Baxi. These are among the most trusted and reliable boiler brands available in the UK, and all come with strong manufacturer warranties when fitted by an approved engineer.
3. How long does a new boiler installation take?
A standard like-for-like boiler swap typically takes between four and eight hours. More complex installations involving a change of boiler type, relocation of the unit or new pipework will take longer. Your engineer will give you a clear timeframe before work begins.
4. Will my home be left in good order after the installation?
Absolutely. Our engineers take great care to work tidily and will clean up fully before leaving. We aim to cause as little disruption as possible and we won’t leave until you’re completely satisfied.
5. Does my new boiler come with a warranty?
Yes. All boilers we fit come with a manufacturer warranty. The length of the warranty varies by brand and model, and is typically between five and ten years. To keep your warranty valid, an annual boiler service by a qualified engineer is required.
1. How often should I have my boiler serviced?
Your boiler should be serviced once a year by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Regular servicing keeps your boiler running safely and efficiently, helps prevent costly breakdowns and is required to keep your manufacturer warranty valid.
2. What does a boiler service include?
A boiler service involves a thorough visual inspection of all key components, cleaning of essential parts and a series of safety and performance checks. Your engineer will flag any concerns and advise on any action required.
3. My boiler has broken down. What should I do?
If your boiler has broken down, contact us as soon as possible. We offer boiler repair services and will aim to diagnose and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. In many cases, repairs can be completed in a single visit.
